third group of inductees into the Lake Linden-Hubbell
High School Athletic Hall of Fame.

Induction Ceremony September 21, 2019 at 9:30 a.m.
The public is welcome to attend. A
continental breakfast will be served.
Harry Anderle
Coach 1929-1938
Harry Anderle came to Lake
Linden-Hubbell in 1929 as a math teacher and coach after
becoming the first 8-letter athlete at Northern Michigan
University. He coached football at Lake Linden-Hubbell
from 1929-1937, and basketball from 1929-1938. He had an
undefeated grid team in 1933. His basketball teams were
Conference champions in 1932, 1933, 1934 and 1937,
District champions in 1930, 1932, 1933, 1934, 1937 and
1938, Regional champions in 1932, U.P. State Champion in
1932 and U.P. State Runners-Up in 1938. He went on to
successful coaching careers at Marinette and Port Huron.
Harry Anderle was a charter member of the Michigan High
School Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 1958. Coach
Anderle was enshrined in the U.P Sports Hall of Fame in
1977 and inducted into the Port Huron Sports Hall of
Fame in 1982.
Lois Codere
Coach/Contributor 1974-2012
Lois Codere was the first
female basketball coach at Lake Linden-Hubbell. She
coached JV girls basketball for 23 seasons from
1974-1996. She finished with a cumulative record of 306
wins and 131 losses. This includes having 3 undefeated
seasons in 1978, 1980 and 1982 and 5 other seasons where
her team lost 3 games or fewer. Just like the math
students she taught, her players worked hard and were
very disciplined.
Wanting to stay involved
during the boys’ basketball season, Lois became the
official scorer for the boys’ games in 1975, a position
she took great pride in and held for 37 years. She was a
very familiar face at the scorers’ table for many
visiting coaches and officials during that time. Lois
taught high school and middle school math at Lake
Linden-Hubbell from 1968-2003.
Bob Haralson
Athlete 1963-1967
Bob Haralson was the recipient
of 9 Varsity letters in football, basketball and track.
He was the team captain on his football and basketball
teams. Bob was named All U.P. 2nd team end his senior
year after being honorable mention his junior year. Bob
distinguished himself as a kicker as well. He was known
as one of the best and most accurate kickers in the U.P.
as he made 13/15 extra point attempts and a field goal.
On the basketball court was where Bob was at his
best. He was a two-time all-conference basketball player
and was 2nd team All U.P. his junior and senior years.
He averaged 16.8 pts./game his junior year and 17.4
pts./game his senior year behind a very accurate shot.
He garnered many academic and athletic awards while in
school including being named team MVP and Best Defensive
Player his senior season and sharing the “L” award given
to the senior athlete who earns the most varsity
letters. At the conclusion of his high school career he
was the school’s all-time leading boys basketball scorer
at the time with 1,032 points.
Rick Marcotte
Athlete 1989-1993
Rick Marcotte was an 8 letter
Varsity athlete while at Lake Linden-Hubbell earning 4
in each football and track. As a running back, Rick was
a 3 time all-conference selection, 2 time all U.P.
selection, 2 times was named all-state and was an all
class Dream Team selection his senior year. The Lakes
were 45-6 during his 4 yrs. of Varsity football
participation. They were State Runners-up his junior
year and State Champions his senior year. During his
senior year he carried 246 times for 1,792 yards and 38
touchdowns and was instrumental in the Lakes earning
their first State Championship. For his career he had
532 carries for 3,556 yards and 59 touchdowns. Rick
still owns the Michigan High School championship game
record for the longest fumble return for a touchdown set
in the 1991 State Championship game vs Mendon when he
picked one up and ran it back 79 yards for a score. His
260 pts. scored his senior season still remains in the
top 20 of highest number of points scored in a single
season in Michigan high school football history.
