Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports (PBIS)

What is PBIS?

PBIS stands for Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports. It is a school-wide behavior program. The main idea is to teach students the way they are expected to behave in various settings at school, and then to reward students exhibiting these expected behaviors in order to decrease negative actions. There are three tiers to the program as explained on the graphic below:

What does PBIS look like at Lake Linden-Hubbell Middle and High School?

PBIS is centered around the idea that Lakes are Good as GOLD. Students are expected to exhibit Good as GOLD behavior standards (Goals, Organization, Leadership and Determination). These expectations are clearly displayed around the school, and have been taught to students on various occasions. When students show good as gold behavior they are acknowledged with small rewards. Our staff and students plan various activities throughout the years designed to create a positive school climate.
