    Remind101 is a free service that sends a text message reminder from the Guidance Counselor regarding deadlines, special events and other important things such as college representative visits and scheduled testing sessions.

    If you would like to register for this service, simply send a text message from your cell phone to the following:

  • ACT Test
    The regular registration deadline for students wishing to re-take the ACT test is August 23, 2013. The test date is September 21, 2013. See the "ACT Registration and Information" link below to register.

Learning Express Library
Select "College Preparation" from the options on the left, then "ACT Preparation" from the options in the next window. The online tests are timed just like the real test and you get a score report categorized by topics. Answers can be reviewed along with detailed explanations for all problems. Your main page keeps track of your quiz attempts and progress.

  • FAFSA Deadline - March 1, 2013
    The Michigan deadline for submitting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is March 1, 2013. A link to the Federal Financial Aid website is listed below.
    Contact the Financial Aid Office at the college you are planning to attend if you have questions or need assistance in completing the FAFSA. You may also contact Mr. Sutherland at the High School.

  • NCAA Eligibility Center
    Student-Athletes who are interested in playing a sport at the Division I or Division II level in college will need to register with the NCAA. The Eligibility Center verifies for colleges that prospective student-athletes meet a minimum academic standard with regard to the courses they have taken and their standardized test scores. Visit the Eligibility Center for more information, and to create an account.

    PeopleSmart Scholarship - Essay Contest

    PeopleSmart is running an essay contest on the subject of privacy in the 21st century and what it means to the current generation of high school students. Any student in grades 9 through 12 may enter the contest by submitting a 500-750 word essay. The winning essay writer will receive $2,500 and his or her essay will be published on the PeopleSmart website and blog. The deadline to enter is April 30, 2014.

  • May 16, 2014
    Deadline for Dual Enrollment Applications

    This is the last day to turn in your application to dual enroll next fall. Students planning to take college courses through dual enrollment should turn in their application to Mr. Sutherland. Once the application has been approved, you will need to complete a separate application to the school you are planning to attend, and register for the class you wish to take. A copy of the Post-Secondary Enrollment Options Application, as well as links to the fall schedules for each of the area colleges is provided below.
