Learning Express Library
Select "College Preparation" from the options on the left, then "ACT Preparation" from the options in the next window. The online tests are timed just like the real test and you get a score report categorized by topics. Answers can be reviewed along with detailed explanations for all problems. Your main page keeps track of your quiz attempts and progress.

  • FAFSA Deadline
    The Michigan deadline for submitting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is March 1st for the upcoming financial aid year.

    Contact the Financial Aid Office at the college you are planning to attend if you have questions or need assistance in completing the FAFSA. You may also contact Mr. Sutherland at the High School.

Seniors wishing to learn more about scholarship opportunities may find the following sites to be helpful:

  • NCAA Eligibility Center
    Student-Athletes who are interested in playing a sport at the Division I or Division II level in college will need to register with the NCAA. The Eligibility Center verifies for colleges that prospective student-athletes meet a minimum academic standard with regard to the courses they have taken and their standardized test scores. Visit the Eligibility Center for more information, and to create an account.

    Financial Aid Information Night

    This presentation is for seniors planning to attend college in the fall of 2016 and their parents. Sue Forbes will cover all things financial aid, including completing the FAFSA, federal and state grant programs, student and parent loans, work study, and more. This presentation is excellent for anyone going through the process for the first time, or as a refresher for those already familiar with financial aid. The program will be held in the auditorium beginning at 5:30, and will be done in time for parents to attend the varsity boys basketball game against Dollar Bay at home that evening.

    ACT Registration Deadline

    January 8, 2016 is the regular registration deadline for anyone interested in taking or retaking the ACT on February 6, 2016. Follow the links listed above under "ACT Test" for more information.

    SAT Test for Juniors

    Juniors will be taking the SAT test in the auditorium beginning at 8:00 a.m.

  • April 13, 2016
    ACT WorkKeys for Juniors

    Juniors will be taking the ACT WorkKeys assessment in the auditorium beginning at 8:00 a.m.

  • April 14, 2016
    MME Test (Science/Social Studies) for Juniors

    Juniors will be taking the Michigan Science and Social Studies portions of the MME in the auditorium beginning at 8:00 a.m.

  • May 26, 2016
    Application Deadline for Boys State

    The Boys State program is open to boys between their junior and senior year. It is a week long event that helps boys learn about government and how it works, by giving the "citizens" of Boys State an opportunity to govern themselves and to run their own state. Boys State is held on the campus of Northwood University in Midland, MI, from June 19-26. CLICK HERE for more information.

  • May 27, 2016
    Application Deadline for the Michigan State Police Student Trooper Program

    Interested students will spend a week at the Michigan State Police academy in Lansing learning about law enforcement and what is might be like for a career. Students will learn proper handling and safety of a firearm, ride along with a trooper on the high speed driving course, learn self-defense techniques and water safety, and participate in crime lab and forensic classes. There is a fee, but often the local American Legion post and/or other civic organizations will provide sponsorship. Visit CLICK HERE for more information.
